The Hon-Chib fighter was created to serve Leera as a defensive interceptor against further attack by Yeerk imperial forces or other hostile species, such as the Rakkam Garroo. Hon-Chib-Ba is the Leeran who designed it.
It is equipped with multi barrel rotating plasma cannons. The rotation allows improved cooling in the individual barrels, as only one fires at a time.
The Hon-Chib fighter has been used successfully against Yeerk bug fighters and in squadrans they have proven effective against Yeerk cruisers and even a Bladeship.
Hon-Chib fighters are built on both Leera and its moons.
